GED Preparation and Testing Center
Lynwood Community Adult School is an official GED Test Center. The GED is a test of high school skills in the following areas:
- Social Studies
- Language Arts
Examinees must be 18 years of age and a photo ID is required (see below for details). Students who successfully pass the test will be issued a High School Equivalency Certificate from the State of California.
GED Preparation Class
Registration for the GED Preparation Class is typically open enrollment until the class reaches maximum capacity. Registration is $15/trimester. GED Preparation books ($35) are available for purchase in our office located on the Lynwood High School campus (4050 E. Imperial Highway).
Lynwood Community Adult School offers GED Preparation classes in English and Spanish. The exam is offered in both English and Spanish. See class schedule.
Register for the GED Exam beginning two weeks prior to the test date (please see the calendar for testing dates or article to the right). Exam seats are offered on a first come, first served basis, so register early.
Please note: YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THE EXAM. We cannot take walk-ins on the day of the exam.
- LCAS Students enrolled in our GED Prep Class: $120.00
- Non-LCAS Students: $130.00 (* except testing partners)
- Exam Retakes: $20.00/exam section
GED Identification (ID) Requirements
Test takers must present a government-issued identification.
Examples of acceptable forms of identification:
- California ID
- California Driver's License
- US Passport
- Consular ID Card Issued in the United States
